When 2009 started I had no idea that 1) I would be working on a comic strip, 2) I would become part of a community, and 3) that in this short time I would knock off one of the nagging things I had on my list of things to accomplish in the next five years (yes, believe me, I have such a list). That last item was to do something creative and to feel a sense of accomplishment outside of the career I’ve been building these past 10 years or so.

The reason I’m writing this is that I feel I owe a huge amount of this to the support of my wife (oh, the things she’s put up with!), my friends who’ve been there to bounce off ideas, and the help of the new friends I’ve made who are FAR more experienced at this thing that I. Two of the best experiences this year included 1) going with my friend, Jake, up to New York for MoCCA and meeting so many comics creators I had only known on-line, and 2) attending this past year’s Baltimore Comic Con where I met and had a great time with so many excellent new friends. Man, I can’t tell you in words how much fun it was!

I hope next year is as great in that respect as 2009 has been, and I hope to see more of you in 2010!
